1. Who we are, and what this site is

EventSheets is a platform for academic and scholarly events, and it does two distinct things. Publishing: it lists events held by organisations unconnected with the site — these are news items, and anyone wanting more should contact the organiser directly. Management: it lets an organiser create their event here and run it end to end: registration, submissions and refereeing, sessions and their cards, attendance check-in, and the issuing of certificates.

2. Accounts

• Creating an account is free. You are responsible for the accuracy of your details, for keeping your password secret, and for everything done from your account.
• You undertake to give a valid email address of your own. It is the site's channel to you for notices, receipts and account recovery.
• The site may suspend any account that is misused — impersonation, publishing unlawful content, or tampering with polls or registrations — without prior notice where the breach is serious.

3. Responsibility for content

• The organiser alone is responsible for the accuracy of their event's details, content, dates and fees, and for actually holding it.
• Events listed as news are published as received from their sources. The site does not warrant their accuracy and bears no consequence of dealing with their organisers.
• Anything a user publishes — a news item, an article, a comment, or material in the events library — expresses its author. The site may withhold anything contrary to the law, to public decency, or to the scholarly nature of the site.

4. Certificates and their verification

For certificates issued through the site, the site verifies one specific fact: that this certificate was issued through the site, to this person, for this event, on this date — which is what the verification page answers for each certificate's code. The organiser's own accreditation, and the scholarly worth of their certificate, are the organiser's own affair; issuing a certificate through the site is not an endorsement of it by the site.

5. Paid services

• Some services carry fees published on their own pages — event creation fees and their packages, and advertising fees. The price of each is shown before payment, with no hidden charges.
• Payment is taken through a payment gateway licensed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The site neither collects nor sees card details.
• An electronic receipt carrying the invoice number reaches the payer as soon as payment completes.
• Where value added tax applies it is shown on the invoice in accordance with the rules of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
• Refund terms are in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. Event registration fees (when payment through the site is offered)

Where the site offers payment of an event's registration fee through it, the site acts as a technical intermediary: the fee is set by the organiser and due to the organiser, and the amount passes through the licensed payment gateway, which divides it between the organiser and the site's published commission. It does not pass through the site's own accounts. The relationship over that fee — its amount, its being due, and its refund — is between the registrant and the organiser, as set out in the refund policy.

7. Intellectual property

• The site's name, logo, design and software belong to their owners and may not be copied or used commercially without written permission.
• Each user keeps their rights in what they publish, and by publishing grants the site a licence to display it within the site's services.
• The site's badges may be published on other sites to link here as they are, without alteration that would suggest otherwise.

8. Limits of liability

The site is provided as it is. Those who run it do their utmost to keep it running and accurate, without warranting that it is free of interruption or error. The site bears no consequence of decisions taken on the basis of content published on it, nor of an organiser's failure to meet their obligations to their registrants.

9. Changes to these terms

The site may amend these terms. An amendment is announced on this page with its date and applies to dealings arising after it is published. Continuing to use the site after an amendment is acceptance of it.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and any dispute arising from them is heard before the competent authorities there.
