Professional certification Languages and language tests
Granted by Cambridge English Usual length Five months to two years Level Advanced

The awarding body’s page Fees, dates and entry requirements are there, not here.

What it is

The advanced stage after the CELTA, which is already in this directory: three independent modules, an exam on language and teaching methodology, assessed teaching practice, and a research project in an area the teacher chooses. Held by those who want to become supervisors, teacher trainers or academic managers in language institutes.

Who it suits

Experienced English teachers in schools, universities and language institutes.

What it requires

An initial teaching qualification such as the CELTA, and classroom experience counted in years.

How it is earned

The modules are studied together or separately at Cambridge-approved centres, in person or online, and each module has its own certificate.
