1What it is
A free online course in peer reviewing for academic journals: what is expected of a reviewer, how to read a paper and assess its method, how to write a report useful to the editor and the author, and the ethics of review. Its syllabus was built with journal editors, and it ends with a certificate of completion. The same academy has other free modules on writing, publishing and choosing a journal.
2Who it suits
Early-career researchers who want to start reviewing, faculty members invited to review without training in it, and members of conference scientific committees.
3What it requires
Registration on the platform only.
4How it is earned
Short modules, each followed by questions, taken at the learner's own pace; the certificate is awarded on completing the whole course.
When a centre or body posts a course that prepares for it, we send you one email about it.
