What it is

A professional credential for archivists, based on an exam covering the archivist's tasks: appraisal and acquisition, arrangement and description, access, preservation, and the legal and ethical side. The academy currently requires no graduate degree or prior experience to sit the exam.

Who it suits

Staff of national, university and institutional archives, and of manuscript and document centres.

What it requires

No prerequisites, as currently announced by the academy.

How it is earned

One exam a year, taken online, with an application window before it, so watch for the dates early.
