1What it is
A professional credential in records and information management: creating and using records, organising and retrieving them, retention and disposal schedules, protecting them, and the technology behind all of it. The institute's first level (CRA) goes to those who pass three parts of the exam. It matters to government bodies and universities moving to electronic records and correspondence.
2Who it suits
Records, archives and administrative correspondence officers, and information managers in government bodies and universities.
3What it requires
A degree and practical experience in records management; the institute credits some university programmes in place of parts of the exam.
4How it is earned
An exam in six parts taken in stages, the last a written case study; the parts need not be taken at the same time.
When a centre or body posts a course that prepares for it, we send you one email about it.
