1What it is
A degree-level professional qualification, with Modern Standard Arabic among its languages in both directions with English. It combines a general translation unit with a specialist unit of the candidate's choice: business or government and public service. It is the step before CIOL's Diploma in Translation (DipTrans).
2Who it suits
Early-career and freelance translators, and those seeking work with language companies and international organisations.
3What it requires
No formal requirement; CIOL expects command of both languages sufficient for professional translation.
4How it is earned
An online exam in CIOL's virtual centre, in announced sittings. Holders may apply for CIOL membership.
When a centre or body posts a course that prepares for it, we send you one email about it.
