1What it is
A regulated British qualification at master's level and one of the highest professional translation credentials: three units, a general text and two semi-specialised texts in a chosen domain (technology, business or literature; then science, law, social science or arts and culture). Modern Standard Arabic is offered into and out of English, and each unit can be taken on its own with its own certificate.
2Who it suits
Professional translators, and anyone who wants to prove their level with a credential independent of their university.
3What it requires
No formal prerequisite; the standard assumes advanced translation experience.
4How it is earned
An online exam taken from home in its announced session; the study guide on the institute's website is the reference for preparation. The three units need not be taken in the same session.
When a centre or body posts a course that prepares for it, we send you one email about it.
